Concentration Piece 2
This is the first piece in the second half of my concentration. For this part, I am going to have all of the characters coming into the frame to meet up for dinner or drinks. As a kid, there would be crossover episodes in a show where characters from one show will appear in another. I always wanted to have several characters from movies/shows have this interaction, so this is more significant for me to be able to create it. I also work at a restaurant, so I was able to have inspiration from my job towards how I wanted the scene to look. I also used the bottles at work to study how light reflects off the different angles.
For this first scene it is just Shego. I made her looking back, like she is looking around for the others to show. I imagine some will meet here on purpose and others might just recognize each other and stop and talk.
The background was the biggest part for me, because beside minor changes, the background will be set for most of the pieces. I knew for the booth I wanted a red leather look. I wanted a night lounge/ fancy restaurant look, and red came to my mind. I think I achieved the reflection leather gives off well. I also added some more dimensions to the booth to make it less flat. For the back I wanted a bar, so there was optional places to put characters or other people. At a bar, there is always a row of drinks. Because every bar is different, I picked a smaller shelf in the nook of the wall. I wasn't sure what to do with the back wall. My friend Morgan had an idea to do an upper tile and then a darker lower wall or possibly wood. Because my family is building a house right now, I am familiar with many back splashes. I decided to go with a simple grey herringbone pattern that reflected the light from the bar. I like it a lot, and I think it all came together well.
