I am really proud of how my landscape turned out! It started with me having no idea what to do, and talking to Morgan. She ended up letting me use one of her photos from Maine with this awesome lighthouse.
I started witih the sketch, as you can see on the top. You can't see the lighthouse because I had joined the layers, so it is now on the completed picture.
I loved each and every part of this. After I did the flat colors, I started with the shading on the rocks. After that, I did the highlights while continuously adding shadows. The farther along it got, the better it looked! I started the lighthouse, but it wasn't right. The perspective was off, so I had to manipulate it a bit. I ended up leaving it for a little. I then went on to the concrete holding up the bridge. That didn't take to long, just some minimul shading. This is when I started mixing things. I partly worked on the lighthouse and fixing up the rocks while shading the bridge and starting the wheat.
After all that, I focused on the background. Getting the right color for the water and the sky took a long time. I copy and pasted the black trees upside down, and blurred it into the water. I then added clouds and starts. I love adding stars to scenery pieces between clouds because it adds a fantasy kind of feeling.
Overall I really really love this piece and cannot wait to do more digital paintings!
