He's gonna catch them all 'cause he's Danny Phantom
The last character I wanted to throw into my brigade was none other than Danny Phantom. The show was one of my top favourites as a kid, and without seeing an episode in over a decade, I still know the entire theme song.
This one was a bit tricky because of his split persona. In one world, he is just an average kid, regular T-Shirt and jeans with black hair and blue eyes. In another world, he's in all black with glowing green eyes, white hair and a phantom body that possesses incredible powers. I wanted to create a version of him where it stuck to my idea of realistic young adult, but you could still tell it was him based on the style and silhouette. I tried to base the hairstyle off what I imaged would have been a split between the two, without doing half black, half white, or frosted tips. I think the gradient was subtle but necassary.
I also did some tricks in his clothes, where I hid the Danny Phantom symbol on his pocket underneath his jacket. I also gave him shoes that reflected his powers. They seem to glow and pulse green, which is his Phantom color. The silhouette idea took a bit to come up with. Originally I was going to use his transforming image, but then I remembered that I didn't use any supernatural powers in any other piece, and I wanted them to be more realistic. So I then decided that his shadow would be his other half, reflecting the green eyes.
It was really awesome to see everyone recognize this character and get excited over this different look.
