Billiards
For my interior design, I decided to do inside my pool table pocket. These piece is cool to me because it is my second oil painting. I am still figuring them out, but I find that I really really like this medium. It's different than anything I've ever done. I am most proud of the balls in the pocket. It was hard, especially the cue ball, but I think I figured it out. i think I got the reflections and the lighting down pretty well. I'm proud of mostly the cue ball, the green ball, and the leather. The leather was hard to do because it reflected completely white, and not just a brighter color. If I could go do this again, I definitely would have wanted to figure out how to do the wood grain. The color change was so subtle and small that I had trouble. The oil just kept eating the details. Also I would add some more shadows the the candycane ball (the 11). I think there definitely need to be more towards the bottom. Because my table is black, I had trouble with shadows and I believe the arms are too grey. |
